No, you do not need an attorney.


Does CLERB and/or City Council have subpoena power?

CLERB does not have subpoena power. The City Council does have subpoena power.


Can CLERB provide monetary rewards?

CLERB DOES NOT give out monetary rewards for dispositions/cases.


When will my case be heard?

There are many factors that determines when cases would be heard. Therefore, CLERB does not provide hearing dates more than 2 weeks in advance.


What are the factors that determines when a case would be heard?

  • The Board only meets once a month and cases are not heard at every board meeting. We only hear an average of 1-2 cases per month, but we don’t always conclude a case.
  • There may be other cases in front of yours.
  • The acquisition of medical records may take time, which could slow up the process.

Will you be able to testify?

Yes, you will be able to testify during your hearing.


Can I bring witnesses?

Yes, you may bring witnesses to your hearing.


What should I bring to a hearing?

You can bring video footage, photos, audio recordings, and/or written documentation including medical records and transcripts.


Can I bring any other supporting evidence or documents to my hearing?

Any other photos or evidence can be presented ahead of time.
